Better care for a better life

Advancing client care through our commitment to quality

Bayshore Home Health, Canada's largest provider of home and community health services, has been chosen by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) to join the prestigious Best Practice Spotlight Organization® (BPSO®) program to implement its internationally recognized clinical best practice guidelines.

In being chosen as a National BPSO, Bayshore will benefit from external coaching resources that will further enhance our services.

This will result in continued superior and trusted service for you, your family member or your clients.

During the five-year partnership, we plan to implement at least five guidelines addressing areas of care such as the following:

  1. Client Centred Care
  2. Assessment and Management of Pain
  3. Supporting and Strengthening Families Through Expected and Unexpected Live Events
  4. Prevention of Falls and Falls Injuries in Older Adults
  5. Oral Health: Nursing Assessment and Intervention

Bayshore will also identify ways to sustain evidence-based practices and measure their impact on patients and the organization itself.

Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario

RNAO launched the Best Practice Guidelines Program in 1999 to provide the best available evidence for patient care across a wide range of health-care settings. The program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The recently chosen candidates make up the fourth cohort of the BPSO® program; to date, more than 200 Canadian and international sites have been designated BPSO®.

Best Practice Spotlight Organizations®

BPSO® are health-care organizations selected by the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) to implement, evaluate and share lessons learned from their best practice guideline experiences and research findings. The partnership is dynamic and long term, focusing on making a positive impact on client care.
