Job Summary

The Financial Assistance Administrator is responsible for receiving and validating receipts for payment/reimbursement for drug purchases, and for submitting cheque requests to Bayshore Specialty Rx. This position reports into the Reimbursement Team Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Keep detailed electronic patient charts of all discussions and transactions related to financial assistance.
• Gather all pertinent and appropriate information from the chart to validate payment requests from pharmacies and patients in a concise, organized and professional manner.
• Recognize and flag payment anomalies and correct them (or ask for correction).
•Track all requests in a searchable Excel spreadsheet.
•Submit weekly cheque requests to Bayshore Specialty Rx for payment.
•Develop procedures to improve efficiencies where necessary.
•Other responsibilities include data integrity/cleanup, file audits and other requests for assistance.


•Drug reimbursement experience/exposure: 1+ years
•Administrative background: 3+ years
•Financial assistance administration experience an asset.

Good understanding of patient support programs and reimbursement.


College diploma in business administration, or equivalent experience.

Other Information

•Understanding of provincial and private drug coverage plans, and how they affect drug purchases and payments.
•Very strong computer and technical skills required in Excel, Word, Outlook and customer relationship management databases
•Experience pulling database reports
•Strong attention to detail
•Ease with working independently, making decisions using sound judgment, and meeting deadlines

**This is a one year maternity leave contract**
