Bayshore Home Health selected for RNAO's Best Practice Spotlight Organization program to advance patient care
Mississauga, Ont., May 3, 2012 – Bayshore Home Health, Canada's largest provider of home and community health services, has been chosen to join the prestigious Best Practice Spotlight Organization program along with14 other organizations to implement its internationally recognized clinical best practice guidelines.
As a chosen national Best Practice Spotlight Organization,
During the five-year partnership, Bayshore Home Health will implement at least five guidelines covering topics such as falls prevention, client centred care, oral health, pain management and family supports. Candidates will also identify ways to sustain best practices and measure their impact on patients and the organization itself.
“This is the next evolution in how Bayshore will ensure excellence of care,” says Holly Quinn, Chief Nursing Officer. “Research shows that patients receiving the latest evidence-based care have better quality of life, and the BPSO® program offers exceptional expert support in knowledge transfer, as well as consultation and mentorship for program development, implementation and evaluation. We'll have access to a phenomenal amount of resources to help improve services to clients, which will be available to all Bayshore branches.”
RNAO launched the Best Practice Guidelines Program in 1999 to provide the best available evidence for patient care across a wide range of health-care settings. The program is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The recently chosen candidates make up the fourth cohort of the Best Practice Spotlight Organization program; to date, more than 200 Canadian and international sites have been designated Best Practice Spotlight Organizations.
