Better care for a better life

Bayshore Home Health named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies for sixth consecutive year

Mississauga, Ont., March 30, 2012 – Bayshore Home Health, Canada's largest provider of home and community health services, has been named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies for 2011. It qualified as a Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies winner in 2006 and 2009 then met rigorous standards to requalify in 2007, 2008 and 2010. In 2011 Bayshore achieved the Best Managed Gold Standard for companies.

"Bayshore Home Health continues to demonstrate a leadership role in home health care across Canada. Winning this award for six consecutive years recognizes that leadership," says Stuart Cottrelle, president of Bayshore Home Health. There are a number of qualifications for this award, but paramount among them is our adherence to Bayshore's core values. As a company we are continuously evolving with society, and are well prepared for the future, offering services that allow people to manage their health while staying in the comfort of their home longer."

Bayshore's success and recognition as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies rests on four key business principles: a culture of commitment; a diversified business model; a strong national presence; and ensuring its branches are part of the communities they serve. Of these four principles, a culture of commitment has been the biggest factor in the company's success.

"Every day Bayshore employees across the country bring the highest levels of innovation, drive and leadership to help the people they serve," says Cottrelle. "The passion they have for what they do and who they help on a daily basis radiates through. They continue to focus on quality, creating value for each and every client. This award recognizes our staff whose dedication to continuous improvement makes Bayshore the very best company it can be."

"We would like to congratulate Bayshore Home Health for achieving the Best Managed Gold Standard and maintaining the Best Managed status for six consecutive years. Their success in Canadian business is a true reflection of their commitment to excellence." said John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services, Deloitte.

2011 winners of the Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies award, along with Requalified, Gold and Platinum Club members will be honoured at the annual Best Managed gala in Toronto on March 27, 2012. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading edge business issues that are key to the success of today's business leaders.

About Canada's Best Managed Companies

Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed private companies with revenues over $10 million. Every year, since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices. The awards are granted on four levels: 1) Best Managed winner (one of the 50 new winners selected each year); 2) Requalified member (repeat winners retain the Best Managed designation for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review); 3) Gold Standard member (winners that retain the Best Managed designation for 4-6 consecutive years); 4) Platinum Club member (winners that maintain Best Managed status for a minimum of six consecutive years). Program sponsors are Deloitte, CIBC, National Post and Queen's School of Business.

Best Managed has launched an online community for private companies: a new Best Managed channel on the Financial Post (FP) Executive site. A collaborative effort by Deloitte, CIBC and FP Executive, the new micro-site is aimed at showcasing Best Managed insights and celebrating the stars of Canada's private company stage.
