Bayshore Home Health opens office to better meet growing home care needs of Red Deer communityRed Deer, AB, June 6, 2011 – Bayshore Home Health, Canada's largest provider of home and community health care services, announced today the opening of a new office in Red Deer. The office will provide in-home nursing care, personal care, home support, corporate wellness clinics, fall prevention and more. "This new Bayshore branch will help the growing, aging population in Red Deer and surrounding areas," says Patricia Compton, the manager of clinical practice for the office. "We have an especially large senior population here as people move from farms or smaller rural centers to the city where they can find the services they require. In addition, local seniors want to stay in their homes as long as possible to maintain their independence." Bayshore Home Health will focus on providing service directly to the public and to people receiving care through their insurance provider. There's a need for an increased health presence in the community given the number of people who are taking care of loved ones and the high percentage of seniors living in the area. "Many people don't understand the kind of services that home health care provides or that they have options beyond institutional care," adds Compton. "It's the goal of our new office to make people more aware of home health care and Bayshore's ability to bring professional services and individualized care to our clients in the comfort of their homes." The company is in the process of hiring nurses, care aides and home support workers to meet the demand for its services throughout Red Deer and expects to hire additional staff as the branch expands. The new office, centrally located at 4928 53rd Avenue, Suite 200 in Red Deer, will operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week and provide a wide range of personalized home care services including:
"Our services allow seniors, individuals living with disability and people with a wide range of acute or chronic care needs to live comfortably in their own homes, preserving their independence and dignity and enhancing their quality of life," says Compton. "They will also help alleviate some of the stress families experience as they try to help elderly parents while working full-time and caring for children of their own." A free Wellness Clinic will be held on Wednesday, June 15th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the new office located at 4928 53rd Avenue, Suite 200. Members of the community are invited to attend. A registered nurse will be on hand to answer questions and provide on the spot results for blood pressure.
