Bayshore Home Health requalifies as one Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies

--A culture of commitment and management autonomy have contributed to company’s impressive growth--

Mississauga, Ont. – February 15, 2008 – Bayshore Home Health, Canada’s largest provider of home and community health services, has achieved requalification as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.

“It was very exciting to join this exclusive group in 2006 and it’s equally satisfying to become a requalified member in 2007,” says Stuart Cottrelle, President of Bayshore Home Health. “This achievement is testimony to the passion and effort of our people. They are the ones who have made this award a reality.”

“Over the past 15 years, Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies program has recognized the most innovative and Best Managed Companies in Canada. We are delighted to celebrate the accomplishments of Bayshore Home Health,” says John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services group with Deloitte, a national sponsor of the Best Managed program.

Bayshore’s success and recognition as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies rests on four key business principles:

  • Culture of commitment
  • Diversified business model
  • Strong national presence
  • Ensuring its branches are part of the communities they serve

Of these four principles, a culture of commitment has been the most important single factor in the company’s success.

“The key to our success is that all of our branches deliver consistent service and have a high level of management autonomy,” says Cottrelle. “We work hard in constantly trying to instill a culture of commitment, and every Bayshore employee is encouraged not only get the job done but to do it as best as they possibly can.”

2007 winners of the Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies award, along with Requalified and Platinum Club members will be honoured at the annual Best Managed gala in Toronto on 25 February, 2008. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.
