Our Nursing Managers
Our team of specialized nurses are led by our nursing managers, who offer a wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise. All of our nursing managers are lead clinical references to ensure that they provide a high level of leadership to our care teams.
Carla MacHattie, RN BScN
Specialty Pharma Nursing Manager (SPNM), GTA, Ontario
Carla oversees the operational and nursing management of Bayshore’s infusion clinics located in the Greater Toronto Area, along with a network of specialty nurses working in the community supporting patients in their homes. Over the past decade, Carla has enjoyed a distinctive career in the specialty pharmaceutical space having held several operational and nursing management positions with AIM Health Group, McKesson Canada and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Prior to coming to Bayshore, Carla also spent time consulting with Marsh and McLellan, supporting their Canadian Risk Management team, and working in the capacity of the National Nurse Manager for Specialty Health Network (SHN) at Shoppers Drug Mart. Carla’s dedication to nursing is demonstrated by her maintenance of all competencies required to be an active ER nurse for Trillium Health Partners.
Colleen Scalise, RN BScN
Specialty Pharma Nursing Manager (SPNM), GTA, Ontario and Saskatchewan
Colleen brings to this role a wealth of knowledge gained by working in various roles within Bayshore and the nursing profession for the last 9 years.
In her role as a Regional Infusion Clinic Manager, Colleen oversees the operational and nursing management for Bayshore’s Specialty Clinics. Colleen has been in this position since its inception and played a key role in to building the network to what it is today. Colleen is working towards completing her de Souza designation as she has taken a keen interest in developing a robust oncology program for the infusion clinic network. Colleen is currently preparing for maternity leave as she is due to have her second child in early October.
Jennica Garnett, RN BScN
Specialty Pharma Nursing Manager (SPNM), Western Canada
Jennica oversees the operational and nursing management for the network of specialty nurses and infusion clinics in Western Canada. This unique and expansive territory pushes the boundaries of conventional thinking, and under her leadership, provides care to some of the most remote and underserviced communities in Canada. Initiatives in the region have focused on expansion, and the region has seen growth rates of up to 40% in recent years.
Jennica is presently the lead clinical reference for Bayshore’s rare disease portfolio; she maintains a membership with C.O.R.D. and develops the training and supplements for these unique and intricate programs. Jennica continues to practice her passion and maintains her certification as a Trauma and Emergency Registered Nurse.
Jordan Beard, RN BScN, eMBA
Director, National Nursing Service
Jordan is the business unit director overseeing the operational and clinical oversight of Bayshore’s speciality nursing services, which includes a network of 250 nurses, territorial supervisors and regional managers, working out of Bayshore’s network of over 60 infusion, injection and medication administration clinics, and nurse-run home infusion and injection pharmaceutical programs in hundreds of communities across Canada.
Jordan joined Bayshore in 2015 and has held previous roles of Regional Infusion Clinic Manager (RICM), Western Canada and National Manager for Infusion Clinics. Prior to joining Bayshore, Jordan spent 12 years working in Specialty Pharmaceuticals having held positions such as Senior Operations Manager with McKesson Canada and Financial Director and Senior Operations Director with BioClin Health Care, Inc. Furthermore, Jordan also spent 7 years working as an Emergency Room Trauma Nurse.
Jordan completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of British Columbia, his Advanced Emergency Room Nursing degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and his dual American-Canadian Executive MBA degree from the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University and Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. Jordan maintains his practicing Nursing license and is actively involved in his local community with several outreach programs.
Kate Lawrence, RN BScN
National Manager, Clinical Education, Specialty Nursing
Kate is the National Manager of Clinical Education for Bayshore’s specialty nursing network. Kate brings a vast amount of knowledge to this role, which has been gained by working in various roles within the nursing profession over the last 12 years. Most recently, Kate has worked as a Regional Infusion Clinic Manager (RICM), overseeing the operational and nursing management for Bayshore’s specialty clinics. As one of the initial managers in this role, she helped to build the role, while standardizing the infusion clinic network at Bayshore into what it is today.
Kate will be completing her de Souza designation in the coming months and will starting on her Masters in Nursing with a Specialization in Clinical Education early in 2018. In addition to her current role as National Manager, Clinical Education, Kate remains dedicated to direct patient care by remaining an active staff nurse for Halton Healthcare Services.
Natalie Joseph, RN BScN
Specialty Pharma Nursing Manager (SPNM), Quebec
Natalie oversees the operational and nursing management of Bayshore’s infusion clinics located in the province of Quebec. Natalie is fluent in both English and French and graduated from John-Abbott College in 1999. She continued her education at the University of Ottawa, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing.
Natalie started her career in nursing at the Montreal General Hospital, where she worked in the Urology, Gynecology and Plastics units. Natalie’s career path led her to working in the home health division with the Centre Local des Services Communautaires (CLSCs) of Quebec, where she was employed as a home care and clinic nurse. There, she managed care for a large patient portfolio, comprised of patients in home and in clinic.
Over the last 14 years, Natalie has been employed with Bayshore HealthCare, where she started her career as a field staff visiting nurse. Natalie would coordinate home visits with patients receiving vital therapeutic pharmaceutical treatment. Natalie was promoted to Program Manager and worked with several pharmaceutical contracts, managing the operations and nursing aspects of the drug programs. Natalie maintains her professional provincial requirements and has a strong commitment to her career.
Simrita Gandhi, RN BScN
Specialty Pharma Nursing Manager (SPNM), Ontario
Simrita is fully invested in planning and execution of operational management strategies for Ontario clinics. Her primary focus has been on standardization and conformity of day-to-day operations for the clinics across Ontario. She has been a valuable asset, executing growth initiatives at an operational level and managing relationships with medical advisors.
Having graduated as a registered nurse (RN) from University of Northern British Columbia in 2008, Simrita has held clinical (ER and Med Tele Nurse) and managerial (Case Manager, Patient Flow Manager/Admin Coordinator) roles previously in private and public sector Hospitals across North America.
Simrita joined Bayshore Specialty Rx in 2013 as one of Bayshore’s earliest clinical infusion nurses. In her previous role as an infusion nurse, she garnered an excellent reputation for improving patient experience and providing quality care. She has been supporting Bayshore infusion clinics ever since!
Wendy Blais, RN BScN
Specialty Pharma Nursing Manager (SPNM), Atlantic Canada
Wendy Blais oversees the operational and nursing management of Bayshore’s infusion clinics located in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland, along with a network of specialty nurses working in the community, supporting patients in their homes. Over the past 12 years, Wendy has worked in both Canada and Australia as a Registered Nurse (RN). Highlights of Wendy’s professional career include:
- Working at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (DECRH) in Fredericton as a surgical float nurse between Urology, GI, Plastics and Orthopedics.
- Spent 6 months working at Brisbane Private Hospital in Australia working with post-op upper limb surgery, gynecology and ENT.
- Spent 2.5 years at John Flynn Private Hospital on the Gold Coast of Australia working in Oncology, Hematology and Palliative care.
Once back in Canada, Wendy joined the Bayshore team and has been a part of that team since 2011. She started out on the float team for the hospital working on various nursing floors from neurosurgery, cardiology, transplant and med-surg. In 2012, Wendy came on board as primary infusion clinic nurse for the Halifax clinic, where she managed and infused at that site for 5 years. During this time, she also helped with the opening of other clinics in Atlantic Canada and has become a member of the SPNM team.
