Mississauga, ON – January 12, 2026 – Building on a successful fiscal 2025 that saw over $480,000 raised and donated to 53 charitable organizations across Canada, the Bayshore Foundation, Bayshore HealthCare’s charitable arm, is setting its sights on an even greater impact in 2026.

“Bayshore is best when we are helping patients, clients and communities reach their full potential in their everyday lives,” says Bayshore HealthCare President, Kevin Webster. “The Bayshore Foundation is our way of continuing this support, and I’m so proud that our team members have embraced this effort to give back to Canadians.”

In 2026, the Foundation plans to expand its reach and deepen its commitment to supporting communities nationwide through increased employee engagement and enhanced partnerships with local charities. Additionally, the Foundation will look to add initiatives that align with its mission to enhance quality of life and remove barriers to independence while continuing to direct funding across five key areas:

Health Conditions

  • Expanding support for organizations focused on Alzheimer’s, dementia, cancer, ALS, MS, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and rare diseases
  • Investing in innovative programs that provide care, education, and resources to help individuals manage health conditions and remain independent

Community & Social Support

  • Growing funding for programs aiding children, youth, caregivers, Indigenous communities, and seniors
  • Developing new partnerships to help vulnerable groups access services and tools for safe, independent living

End-of-Life & Specialized Care

  • Strengthening support to hospices, palliative care, and hospital foundations
  • Enhancing programs that provide compassionate care during critical life stages, promoting dignity and independence

Mental & Emotional Well-Being

  • Increasing funding for counselling, education, and community-based support programs
  • Launching new initiatives to help people facing illness, injury, or aging, build resilience and emotional stability for independent living

Basic Needs & Emergency Support

  • Expanding donations to food banks and emergency relief programs
  • Ensuring greater access to nutritious meals and immediate help for those in crisis, supporting safety and independence

“We are thankful for every donation; each contribution helps create lasting change and impact in the communities we support,” says Bayshore Foundation Director, John Lawrence. “We look forward to continuing this important work in 2026.”

About Bayshore Foundation
The Bayshore Foundation for Empowered Living funds initiatives that address the barriers preventing people who are living with illness,
injury or aging from living independently.

In communities that Bayshore HealthCare serves, we partner with local registered charities that offer resources and guidance; provide access to supportive tools, products and devices; and address inaccessibility in built environments. Fundraised locally remain in the same community, and our partners report on how those funds are used. The Foundation provides funding exclusively to registered charities and does not fund individuals, not-for-profit organizations, or other foundations.
