Bayshore HealthCare acquires Elder Life Advocacy and In Home Care
Bayshore HealthCare purchases Qualicum Beach-based Elder Life Advocacy and In Home Care and opens new location on Vancouver Island
VICTORIA, BC (16 November 2017) – Bayshore HealthCare announced today that it has acquired Elder Life Advocacy and In Home Care. The sale was effective September 1st and involved the transition of 21 care workers and 30 clients, primarily from the Parksville, Qualicum Beach and Nanaimo area. Elder Life employees and clients were notified and welcomed by Bayshore Home Health prior to the finalization of the sale.
To support the staff and clients of Elder Life, Bayshore HealthCare has opened a fourth office on Vancouver Island under the Bayshore Home Health brand. This office is independently operated by Bayshore and is located inside ‘The Gardens at Qualicum Beach’. The Gardens is a campus of care, offering seniors the ability to ‘age in place’ with independent and assisted living, complex continuing care and privately owned condominiums.
“With this acquisition, we had many clients who we provided service to in this retirement community, so having a satellite branch office within The Gardens, made good sense in terms of being able to provide support to our caregivers and increased visibility of our commitment to be a local provider of care”, commented Stasia Hartley, Area Director for Bayshore Home Health for the Vancouver Island region.
For The Garden’s General Manager, Melanie Young, it was an opportunity to partner with a well known care company, “Bayshore Home Health, is a very respected provider of in-home care and having them locate an office in our space, provides our clients with greater choice if their care needs increase and they require a little extra help in their homes” she added.
In addition to their newest location in Qualicum Beach, Bayshore Home Health also has an office in Nanaimo, Sidney and Victoria and is part of a network of over 70 home health offices across Canada.
