Bayshore hosts first in-house Best Practice Champion training
On March 31, 2026, Bayshore hosted its first in-house Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) Best Practice Champion training session. The Clinical Practice, Quality, Health Informatics and Privacy (CQ-HIP) team supported three clinical practice leaders in becoming in-house trainers, with two of them— Janet Chan and Pamela Burns —facilitating their first in-person session at the Carriage House Transitional Care Unit (TCU).
The session had a strong turnout, with 11 participants from Carriage House, including personal support workers, personal care attendants, physiotherapy, and nursing. Learners took part in small- and large-group discussions and hands-on practice using the tools through interactive activities. Carriage House TCU was selected as the first site to host an in-person Best Practice Champion session because the team is currently implementing the Pain: Prevention, Assessment and Management (4th ed.) Best Practice Guideline.
What better way to bring people together around a shared goal of improved client/patient care than by training them to become champions?
