MISSISSAUGA, ON — On a rainy morning in some parts of the country and under clear skies in others, Bayshore HealthCare employees gathered in parks, community centres, and city streets across Canada with team signs, walking shoes, and a shared purpose: supporting Canadians impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

On May 30 and 31, the Bayshore Foundation launched its first company-wide initiative in support of the Alzheimer Society of Canada through the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s. From coast to coast, Bayshore teams participated in local walks, raising awareness, strengthening community connections, and contributing to fundraising efforts in support of dementia care, research, and family resources.

What unfolded over the weekend was more than a fundraising campaign. It became a reflection of the people behind Bayshore’s care network — colleagues stepping beyond their day-to-day roles to support a cause that touches countless Canadian families.

There were 29 Bayshore teams with more than 260 Bayshore supporters, including employees and their families and friends, who participated and organized local fundraising efforts, coordinated community participation, wore Bayshore colours proudly, and shared personal stories about loved ones affected by dementia. In Oakville, Ontario, even Bayshore Foundation’s youngest supporters joined the effort, with siblings Hannah and Caleb Holmes operating a lemonade stand to raise funds for the cause. Across the country, employees captured moments of celebration, remembrance, and connection that underscored the deeply personal nature of the event.

Together, Bayshore teams have already raised more than $23,000 and with the 50 per cent fundraising match from the Bayshore Foundation, that total will grow to more than $34,500. Every contribution will help support local Alzheimer’s Societies in the communities Bayshore serves.

“Thank you again to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and helped make Bayshore’s first national IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s initiative such a success,” said John Lawrence, Director, Bayshore Foundation and Sustainability. “We’re incredibly grateful for the support shown across the organization and look forward to building on this momentum in the years ahead.”
